RELIGION AND MAGIC IN THE BOOKS OF HARVINGTON HALL

16th February 2018 @ 7:00 pm

Bruegel - The Fall of Rebel Angels

Religion and Magic in the Books of Harvington Hall

The people of Tudor and Stuart England accepted the power of religion, magic, and the invisible world of spirits. The library of Harvington Hall opens a window on these beliefs. Professor Darren Oldridge will present a selection of works from the collection that illustrate the religious convictions of the age, the portrayal of miracles, the practice of magic, and the fear of witchcraft. Participants will have a unique opportunity to turn the pages of these ancient books and encounter voices from a vanished world.

Please note, this event is now fully booked.
