Harvington Hall needs YOU!

Our aim is for Harvington Hall to be one of the UK’s must-see visitor attractions and the heart of the local community, acting as a safe and enjoyable space for people to use.

Never has our own wellbeing and sense of community been so important. We would love you to join us on this journey and help fulfil our vision.

Harvington offers a range of different volunteering opportunities for all ages and backgrounds, and we are working towards becoming a fully inclusive volunteering team.

Roles include tending our beautiful gardens, acting as a meet and greet, working in the gift shop, helping out with historical research, becoming a tour guide or becoming one of our historical re-enactors.

The opportunities are endless!

Our volunteers form the heartbeat of the Hall and take pride in their roles, and there is a real family feel among them.

What do the roles involve?

Meet and greet/shop

Are you friendly and, approachable, with an ability to deal with customers’ needs? Then this is the volunteering role for you.

First impressions are so important, and our front of house volunteers set the tone for the rest of our visitor’s day.

The shop is our first port of call for visitors; it’s where volunteers take admissions, check online pre-booked tickets and sell a variety of goods.

Our aim is to give all of our visitors a memorable day out and a sense of wanting to return – time after time.

Tour guiding

Harvington has an amazingly unique story to tell, and we are looking for enthusiastic individuals to help bring that story to life for our visitors.

The Hall has a fantastic reputation for delivering exceptional guided tours that are a vital part of the visitor experience.

We are looking for passionate, enthusiastic guides to join our team!

Gardening

Although relatively small, Harvington has many different flower beds and gardens, and the grounds need constant upkeep.

We have a self-contained Tudor Herb garden with herbs that would have been grown by the Harvington family during the Elizabethan period.

The plot displays beautifully shaped box-hedging. We also have a wildflower bed as well as carefully manicured flower beds, blooming all year round in the North and South Gardens.

Harvington Hall

This list is not exhaustive and there are many volunteering opportunities available.

Whether you know exactly how you’d like to help, or would like to volunteer but don’t know how, we would love to hear from you.

We offer a full induction, training and support for new and existing volunteers and a number of benefits are available.
